Art was on the run. He’d caused an unfortunate explosion in the chemistry labs, and security was after him. So when Majesty offered him a way out, he didn’t hesitate. The slip tonic tasted of nothing in particular, but the effect was immediate, and he found himself spatially close by, but in a different universe entirely. This was a world split from top to bottom, the left hemisphere housing the scientists and the right, the artists. But there was an astronaut-shaped hole hanging over the Divide, leaking material from the universe next door and Art had been chosen to repair it.

“I’m afraid I will have to decline, sir,” said Side Carr, bending over. “Instead, I will relieve you of that weapon you so despise and take it to the mountains.” He wrapped a tentacle around the Stick and projected a piercing whisper into Zig’s ear. “And if you ever do drag yourself back to Wayland Manor, that place so dear to my heart, I very much hope you drown in a lake full of sherry.” He pulled out the Stick, moved out of the glare of the headlights and disappeared down the road.

Zig was completely alone. Perhaps Dick and Dirk might come by and find him laid out between “Only Animals Eat Salad” and “Eat Carrots and Die”, but it was unlikely.
